We are back for 2012 with some new venues and more shows!!!

Tuesday 17 January 2012 - 14:28:57

After a bit of time off to relax and work on some new stuff, the band is back and ready to rock out in cities across the north east. Already we have shows planned in new areas that we are all very excited about visiting!

First up for us will be a show at Red Square in Albany on Jan 28th! Our first official time playing in Albany! We will be joined by local Albany band Summer of Doug as an opening act. Tickets are on sale now! $9 in advance and $12 at the door. As a note, there is a $5 door fee for anyone under 18-20 years old. (18+ to get in). The band sadly had no control over this aspect. That door fee is collected...wait for it...at the door! So it is not included in any ticket price.

Check out the link here for tickets: http://redsquarealbany.tickets.musictoday.com/RedSquareAlbany/moreInfo.aspx?event=147374&outlet=1450

Only 350 available! So advanced sale is suggested!

Big thanks to CRUSH 105.7 and Budweiser for sponsoring the show! Going to be a great time! Hope to see you all there!

Other shows coming up include a great return to Buffalo on Feb 25th at The Tralf with opening act Tim Britt and Off the Cuff!

Then the first week in March, we are heading out to Ohio! stops in Cleveland and Toledo! Details on that coming soon!

Another great year - 1 more show!

Monday 05 December 2011 - 15:38:18

We want to thank everyone who has made our 2012 one of the best and most successful years for the band! We have had a great time traveling to many different areas and playing in front of many new faces! We also want to thank those who have traveled with us to different areas so that we get to see some familiar faces in the crowds as well! A special thank you to everyone who came out to Water Street for the show a few weeks ago! We had an absolute blast rocking the stage to so many of you! Hopefully you guys enjoyed MoChester as well!

We have 1 more show lined up for 2012, and then a small break while we work on some original tunes and get some more DMB tunes down! We will be playing at Q's in Caledonia on December 16th!. Tickets are on sale at the venue (call or in-person). They are $10 in advance and $15 at the door! This is going to be another great show at a cool new venue for us! Certainly hope to see many of you there. Our regular concert schedule should resume around the end of January or beginning of February!

See you at Q's!!! (Or in 2012!)

Thanks again to everyone who has made Big Eyed Phish what it is!

Signed,
Brian, Brandon, Karl, Dan, Chris (The Doctor), Mike, Collin, and Tony!

Its that time again!

Wednesday 26 October 2011 - 13:30:27

What time you ask? Why Water Street Music Hall time!

Get at any band member for tickets ($10) or they can also be purchased at the door ($13).

Whats up this fall?

Tuesday 04 October 2011 - 12:29:22

Our apologies for the delay in updating our news! We had an absolute fantastic time at both SummerSounds in Greensburg and at Park Point to wind down our summer. It has been nice to take a little break for us since then!

Bad news and good...the bad news for those that have not heard is that our lead guitar player, Peter Sapia, has had to step away from the band due to personal reasons. We wish him the best in his future endeavors in life and he will forever be a member of the Big Eyed Phish family!
The good news is that with this time off, we have been able to host tryouts for a new guitar player. After hearing many good guitar players, we think we found a little gem in the rochester guitar community in our newest member: Collin Jones. Collin has attended Berkley School of Music and is known around the area as an open-mic all-star and former guitar player for the local Rochester original band "Pia Mater". While smaller in stature, we have no doubt that our fans and friends will very quickly warm up to his monster guitar ability. We will be getting him up to speed on our songs very quickly and will have him out on the stage in no time. It will be awesome to get him in front of a thousand people at Water Street Music Hall on November 19th.

With that being said - we do have some shows coming up and quite a few private parties.
First up will be Fairport's Oktoberfest! Things kick off at 4pm on Friday, October 7th....with Big Eyed Phish taking the stage at 9pm!! We will be joined by our friend and one of our fill-in guitar players, Jon Sheffer, from the band Mochester (who will also be opening the show for us at Water Street!). Earlier in the evening there will be lots of beer, authentic german food, and authentic german music! It is located at the Fairport Festival Site! (Right near the bridge, right near where we play for Fairport Music and Food Festival). Check out http://fairportpartnership.org/wp/ for more details!

Then after some private parties, we are already into November where we will be returning to one of our favorite venues - The Stone Lounge in Cortland! This will be on November 11th! Not only is it going to be an awesome time cause we get to rock out that venue - but it is also Coritca Jug...which means "huge party" in another language. Definitely not something you will want to miss! Its going to be a blast.

Then, the big show of the year at Water Street Music Hall! We will have many more details about this coming soon! Mochester will be opening the show. We learned a bit from last year and will now have only 1 opening band, and Big Eyed Phish will be going on much earlier! We think expecting people to hang out for 7 hours was a bit extreme last time. So 1 opener with a 1 hour set, then Big Eyed Phish for 2 1/2 or more hours! New songs, more songs, big crowds, lots of fun...pretty much on par for our shows! See you there!

2 big shows to end our summer!

Tuesday 30 August 2011 - 10:26:02

First up is a great new venue for us in a new area this FRIDAY, September 2nd - Greensburg, PA! For the Summer Sounds Concert Series (near Pittsburgh). We go on at 7pm and will rock out till 9:30. Check out their website for any directions or more details! http://www.summersounds.com/index.html

(click on the image to go to their facebook page!)

After that we are headed back home to Rochester, NY to rock out at the RIT Park Point Labatts Concert Series (FREE SHOW!)! This is the final one for the summer and they are getting HUGE! Be sure to get there early to get a good spot! We are going to be rocking the stage with a great local original band called Audio Influx. Check them out online here: http://www.audioinflux.net/

This will likely be our last show until November in Rochester as we plan on doing some more traveling in the fall before coming back on November 19th to rock out Water Street Music Hall again!

We are going to be changing up the setlist a bit to get some deep tracks out for the die-hard DMB fans! So if you have seen us this summer, you might want to come check us out again to hear a whole different set!! (With a couple of your favorites still included).

Hope to see a lot of friends, families, and fans!

Coming soon to a town near you!

Thursday 28 July 2011 - 13:55:23

Lots of concert series on the way in August with a couple of exceptions!

First up, we are returning to Paddock's in Saratoga Springs this saturday (July 30th!). Going to be a great time just like it was a month ago when we were there!

Next up for Rochester folks is a benefit/memorial/fundraiser show for a friend and fan of the band who passed away last year in a car accident. Many of his friends got together to raise some money for other foundations and causes and we are happy to be part of this 2nd annual concert event! The event is friday, August 5th, in Perinton! Check out the facebook page for "Richstock 2" for more details! http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=251625128196586

The day after that, on August 6th, we are out to BUFFALO for the Gateway Harbor Concert Series! This is our first time at that series and we will most certainly be ready to rock out to many new and familiar fans! http://www.bestofwny.com/concerts_festivals/ Any help and support you can give by spreading the word to friends, fans, and family is always appreciated when we enter new areas!

A little weekend break for the band in the middle of August is followed by the IslandFest concert series in Syracuse, NY (Baldwinsville). We will be playing on Saturday, August 20th! Going to be a great time at a great concert series venue!

Then finally at the end of august it is another benefit in Rochester for the Fairport Music and Food Festival! This is our 3rd year playing the event and it has always been a great time. We were unable to perform last year, but will be coming back with a bang this time and hopefully having another jam with lapsteel guitarist from the Campbell Brothers to recreate the epic jam with DMB and Robert Randolph! We shall see! Hope to see everyone there on August 27th!

Another big thanks and more shows!

Wednesday 29 June 2011 - 10:39:19

We want to thank folks who came out to the Gypsy Bar at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City to check out our pre-party jamming! The band had an absolute blast in A.C. We certainly would like to thank The Borgata Hotel and Casino for having us as well as the folks who set up the show (David, Dan!).

A little picture of some of the band members enjoying themselves at 5am at the breakfast buffet.

Whats next for the band you might be wondering? Well whether you were wondering or not, let us tell you!

First up, a few of us are going to Phish's SuperBall IX Festival in Watkins Glen for the July 4th weekend! If you are there, look for us!

In terms of shows, we have the following!
On July 8th, we are one of the headliners for the East End Festival. We will be playing on the East Ave / Matthews "Rock Stage". Definitely be sure to come out to this huge party and enjoy lots of good people, good music, and good drinks. Opening our stage for us is our fellow musicians and friends in the band MoChester. Check them out on their website: http://www.facebook.com/MoChester and be sure to get to the stage early to see their set.

Rock Stage (East Ave at Matthews):
Mochester 6-8,
Big Eyed Phish 8:30-11

The very next day, July 9th, we are playing an awesome summer show at Colemans along with a Cornhole tournament in Syracuse, NY!

What a blast in Saratoga Springs!!! Atlantic City - coming soon!

Monday 06 June 2011 - 14:33:36

We have to admit, our expectations for the show in a brand new city for us, at a brand new venue - were a bit low! We certainly did not expect a few hundred people to show up and rock out with us for 3 1/2 hours...followed by some good times hanging out in Saratoga! A big thanks to Angel who booked and promoted the show!! Also thanks to the Paddocks Lounge for a great time! A nice venue you guys have there and we are more than excited to be back at the end of July!

Next up for the band is to get ready for the DMB Caravan show at the Borgata Hotel and Casino on June 25th and June 26th! We play the "pre-party" at the hotel from 3-7pm, which of course is followed by the actual DMB performing at the abandoned airport! Definitely going to be a lot of fun hanging in Atlantic City with a lot of fellow friends and fans!

We will also hopefully have some more videos to post from the Water Street show sometime soon!

Thanks to everyone that has been out to see us lately! We very much appreciate the support especially when we travel to new locations. Some of you are quite the dedicated fans! (Thats going out to you Jess and Phil - and your significant others!)

Big Eyed Phish is very happy to announce our new official youtube channel! You can find all the band's officially uploaded videos at the following channel: http://www.youtube.com/bigeyedphishLIVE.
We would like to thank ManCave Recordings (http://www.mancaverecordings.com) for doing the video for us! The first couple of videos from the Water Street show get audio from the cameras themselves.
