Like a broken record stuck on a good song!
Thursday 02 September 2010 - 11:33:16
I feel like we start each of these news items the same way, but thats because every show this summer has been an absolute blast for us and we simply can't thank all of our friends and fans enough for coming out to the shows. Again Coleman's was packed for their final block party of the year! Shooters out in Fairport was a great time! We even played our first wedding for our friends Brittany and Chris Kersey (whom we wish a lifetime of happiness and joy!...and some eating, drinking, and being merry!) and had a fun time at that!
With that being said, SUMMER ISN'T OVER YET! This labor day weekend is a busy one for the band, but hopefully we get to bring a great party with some great music to 3 different cities!
We have a couple of new songs that have been requested by fans to debut as these shows!
Friday - September 3rd - Cortland, NY - The Stone Lounge: Show time is 7pm-10pm. FREE! Don't have much to say about this show. If you are anywhere near Cortland and haven't seen the absolutely insane party that happens when we come to the Stone Lounge, well you simply don't know what you're missing!
Saturday - September 4th - Rochester, NY - Woody's on Monroe: Show time is 10:30. Cover charge at door. This is another one of our regular gigs in Rochester and as anyone that has been there can tell you, is always a great time.
Sunday - September 5th - Wilkes-Barre (Scranton), PA - The Woodlands: Show time is 10:00. We are not sure about the cover charge. The Woodlands is a really nice resort about 30 seconds from the Mohegan Sun casino in Wilkes-Barre, PA. If you are coming from NY, its a great chance to pick up some fireworks too! (Big Eyed Phish does not condone nor promote any illegal activity regarding fireworks). There are $85 rooms at the resort when you ask for the "Big Eyed Phish" special! If you are in the area, be sure to come check us out and rock out with us at this new venue for the band!
Monday - September 6th - LABOR DAY: This is our day to rest, try and remember what happened during the weekend, and catch up on some sleep! Just put this up here to remind people that just because we have a show on sunday it shouldn't stop you from coming out because most people don't work in the morning!!
Thanks again to everyone for what has been an awesome summer and one to remember in the Big Eyed Phish timeline!
P.S. WE HAVE SHIRTS! We are starting to print and sell some t-shirts at our shows! Colors vary and we are going to try to have multiple colors to pick from at each show (possibly not by this weekend sadly!). The t-shirts will be $10. These are not your typical cheap shirts! These are nice ones with a great artistic design that can be worn to support the band, or as a nice shirt on a night out when we aren't playing in your area! The design is below!
This week!
Monday 23 August 2010 - 17:31:35
2 big shows for Big Eyed Phish!
THURSDAY - August 26th - our final show of the summer at one of our favorite venues in syracuse - COLEMANS! Don't miss the last thursday block party! Show starts at 7pm with Big Eyed Phish taking the stage outside! After us, Chief Bigway takes the inside stage at 10pm. Come enjoy the last days of summer with an awesome Irish Pub, and Big Eyed Phish!
FRIDAY - August 27th - Big Eyed Phish again returns to Shooters in Fairport (rochester). We have had 2 great shows there and we have new material to bring out for you at this one!!! Definitely a show not to miss in Rochester!
Thanks for another fun week!
Monday 16 August 2010 - 12:41:07
Thanks to everyone that showed up this past wednesday for the benefit for our friend Richie out at the Perinton Amphitheater. We heard that over $1,500 were raised for a scholarship in his name! It was an awesome night getting to meet a bunch of his family a friends and seeing the impact he had on so many people in his life. Gone but most certainly never forgotten.
Thank you also to a few people that made it out to our "open jam" after the Party in the Park on thursday! A nice little intimate show with some friends, fans, and other bands! A big thanks to Client 9 and Geoff from Extended Family for joining us on stage! Also thanks to Geoff for some great local brew that will hopefully be available to the public soon!
And finally, thanks to the thousands that came out and rocked out with us for the East End Festival. That show is certainly one of our favorites each year. We want to officially apologize for the late start. Sadly, everything that went on was beyond our control. This is what happens when you have a bigger band (7 people) and a sound crew that didn't exactly know what they were doing. We heard it sounded pretty good out front...too bad we couldn't hear anything on stage! None of the monitors were working, which makes working off each other and really being in-sync pretty difficult! From the response, we hope we still put on a great show. We promise that sound company issue will not be happening again anytime soon if we can help it!
We have a couple of private parties coming up...but then:
THURSDAY - August 26th - COLEMAN'S in Syracuse, NY!
FRIDAY - August 27th - SHOOTERS in Fairport, NY! (Rochester)
Don't miss these 2 killer shows as we will have some new material ready by then! SEE YA SOON AND THANKS AGAIN!
Half way through the week and having a blast!
Friday 23 July 2010 - 10:41:10
Half way through our crazy week and we again would like to thank everyone that has come out. Orleans county marine park was a great time for us! Good to see some new faces enjoying our music.
Then last night we had an absolute blast playing before Rochester's own Duke Jupiter. We had the chance to talk with the guys and meet with them and we can tell you they are nothing but upstanding guys and fantastic musicians. Big Eyed Phish sax player Dan Merkey was even invited up to play a song with the 80's legends. It is so easy to have a great amount of energy on stage (which hopefully comes across to you guys) when you have 10,000 people clapping and cheering for you. Thanks to all of Rochester that came out, thanks to those that put on party in the park, and thanks to Duke Jupiter for allowing us to play on the stage before them!
TONIGHT We are at RIT in the Park Point complex with Teagan and the Tweeds and our friends Uncle Plum! Teagan and the Tweeds takes the stage at 6:30, Big Eyed Phish around 7:30, and Uncle Plum around 9pm! Definitely going to be a blast. This is a family-friendly show which allows all-ages and is completely FREE! (Beer available in designated areas). So bring a chair and come on out!
SATURDAY Ten Ugly Men! This is a great fundraiser with TONS of things to do including a bunch of live music. Big Eyed Phish goes on at 4 but you will want to get there far earlier than that! Kickball tournaments, volleyball, Kan-Jam, a huge adult slip-n-slide and much more! Going to be an AWESOME time! www.tenuglymen.com

Ending out July with a BANG!
Tuesday 20 July 2010 - 09:32:20
The band would like to send our gratitude to the thousands that came out at both the Presque Isle concert series as well as the Dunkirk Party on the Pier concert series! What beautiful places to hold outdoor concerts with lots of great people! Couldn't have asked for much better weather either! We definitely thank everyone involved in putting together both of those shows and would certainly love to come back again!
NEXT UP
This week is going to be very busy for the band here in Rochester and the surrounding area!
TONIGHT - Big Eyed Phish makes a small drive out to Orleans County Marina in Kent, NY - just a short drive west of Hilton. The park is on Point Breeze Road! Show starts at 6pm and costs $2/person or $5 for the entire family! A great chance for some of the farther west-siders to come check us out closer to their home! This is a family event and for all ages!
THURSDAY - Big Eyed Phish makes their grand first appearance on the stage at party in the park in downtown Rochester (Blue Cross Arena parking lot). The band will be opening for Rochester's very own Duke Jupiter! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KgnRPx_vdI - Duke Jupiter - I'll Drink To You). We certainly are looking forward to meeting and performing before these legends! Show starts at 5:30 and Big Eyed Phish plays to about 7, at which point Duke Jupiter takes the stage.
FRIDAY - This is definitely the concert not to miss! 3 great bands, 1 stage!! The concert is the Labatt's Concert Series held at Park Point @ RIT. Starting the show at 6pm will be the awesome original band "Teagan and the Tweeds". A Country-Rock style band with some attitude! These guys are great and good friends of ours! Highly suggest getting there early to see them! Big Eyed Phish will be taking the stage somewhere around 7:30pm! One of our fans made part of the setlist - so be prepared for everything from some great hits, to some deep tracks for the die-hard DMB fans!
After us, our great friends in the band Uncle Plum rock the stage. If you are from Rochester or the surrounding area you have got to know who these guys are! They play all your favorite songs from any decade. Call out a song loud enough and get their attention - they'll probably play it!
THIS SHOW IS FREE - and ALL-AGES.
SATURDAY - Big Eyed Phish headlines the Ten Ugly Men Festival. If you don't know what this is, your best bet is to check out their website: www.tenuglymen.com/
This is a fundraiser all-day family event with a bunch of sports tournaments, huge slip-n-slide, and live music throughout the day! Check out their website for details as well as ticket information.
The great East End Festival! And Coleman's Clambake!
Wednesday 07 July 2010 - 15:55:28
We are very much looking forward to playing for the 3rd year in a row at the East End festival! This is the first of our 2 East End Fest's this year! We will be performing on the main stage prior to our friends Uncle Plum! Our show goes from 7-8:30, and they take the stage 9-11!
We have a nice surprise that we are working hard to bring to you for this show! Whether you have seen us before or if this will be your first time, we promise you nothing but a great time all evening!
THEN....
On Saturday we are back yet again at Coleman's! The block party in june was an absolute blast...so I can only imagine how awesome this clambake is going to be! This time there will be 2 bands.
The band "New Day" will take the stage at 5pm! We will then be on around 7ish to keep the party rocking! Whether you love Coleman's, or clams, or New Day, or Big Eyed Phish, or just love to drink - all are acceptable reasons to show up this saturday and have fun with us.

Big show coming up in Syracuse - ALBANY CANCELLED
Monday 03 May 2010 - 12:57:32
We as usual want to thank everyone who has been coming out to support us and having a great time with us recently. There is little left to say about Cortland and the Stone Lounge!! That place is our home away from home and we had an absolute blast yet again there! We will be back on September 3rd for a "welcome back" party for students!
For anyone that attended the Westcott Theater show last time, you know how great the venue is! We will be performing at the Westcott Theater on Friday, May 14th! Get your tickets early by visiting the website: www.thewestcotttheater.com . This is again an all-ages show!
The show at Revolution Hall on May 15th in Albany (Troy) has been CANCELLED. This was done by Revolution Hall and we at Big Eyed Phish had nothing to do with the decision nor did we have any say in it happening. We were very much looking forward to playing in the area. We are sorry for any inconvenience this caused but it was beyond our control
We look forward to seeing and performing in front of our friends and fans as well as making some new friends and fans in the next couple of weekends!
